Susan Cain, Quiet (via accountedfor)
I was told once that I am an introvert by nature but an extrovert by nurture. So what does that make me?

Loved this show loads.
Imam ash-Shafi’i:
Do you belittle dua’a and discount it
While not knowing what the prayer accomplishes
The arrows of the night do not miss their target.
But they have a delay, and the delay then finishes.

It just took those two words for you to say…
to spark my interest in the conversation. It was like electric. Two wires fused together and the circuit in my brain was on high alert especially so after tuning out from the small talk everyone was supposed to make.
I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the conversation as I was curious. Curious enough because it’s rare for me to hear someone who just by chance could be on the same wavelength as me. Do you know what I mean? Friends who always seem to be on the same page as you whether in tastes, preference in music or areas of interest. And then it was your turn next and you had to leave.
And here I was wishing we could be friends although we are strangers and have conversations about everything under the sun.
When I woke up this morning I asked myself:
“What are some of the secrets of success in life?”
I found the answer right there in my very room:
The fan said : Be cool.
The roof said : Aim high.
The window said : See the world.
The clock said : Every minute is precious.
The mirror said : Reflect before you act.
The door said : Push hard for your goals.
And finally, the carpet said : Kneel down and pray.
Because when dirt comes over your head, it becomes your grave. — Imam Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (via theconsciousmuslim)
